Turkish Champions Galatasaray have close to completing a major swoop for the January transfer window

Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Napoli to sign Dutch winger Noa Lang on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the clubs have agreed a €2 million loan fee plus a €30 million purchase option that could turn the move permanent this summer.

Lang, 26, joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in July 2025 for a fee reported around €25 million, signing a contract that runs until June 2030 but making only 18 appearances with 1 goal for the Serie A champions before the mid-season move.

Why Galatasaray want Lang

Lang, who was likened to Neymar when he broke out, offers Galatasaray more pace and creativity to support Victor Osimhen, which they hope will bolster their attack as they push to maintain their lead in the Turkish Süper Lig and strengthen their Champions League ambitions.

While his stint at Napoli has not gone as planned, he was a star in the Eredivisie, registering 11 goals and 10 assists in 29 Eredivisie appearances for PSV in the 2024/25 season before moving to Italy.

Additionally, Galatasaray’s move for Lang can be seen as a direct reaction to Fenerbahçe’s links to Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, who was also on the radar of Cim-Bom.

The Turkish champions are serious about dominating the Super Lig and making consistent strong Champions League campaigns; hence, the decision to leverage the established relationship with Partenopei from the Osimhen transfer to land Lang.
