Julian Nagelsmann has been urged to accept the Tottenham manager’s job by former Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who worked with him at RB Leipzig.

Julian Nagelsmann is one of the candidates to take over the Tottenham job on a permanent basis and has reportedly been in communication with Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy. The role became available after Antonio Conte departed in late March.

Tottenham's managerial situation

Ryan Mason has been placed in charge until the end of the season after the sacking of the initial interim, Cristian Stellini, who was in charge of Sunday’s 6-1 humiliation at Newcastle.

Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern Munich last month while enjoying a strong run of form and replaced with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Rangnick's Tottenham advice for Nagelsmann

Ralf Rangnick, former Manchester United caretaker, and current manager of the Austrian national team, believes that Nagelsmann should commit to Spurs, speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Rangnick said:

“They probably have one of the most modern, beautiful stadiums in the world, they have one of the best training centres and Daniel Levy, who has been leading the club for many, many years.”

“If Tottenham really want him [Nagelsmann], then I think it would be important if a sporting director was still there to support him,” Rangnick said.

“It can be a very, very exciting story. There is room for improvement, a lot of room for improvement and yet this is not a club where the house expects you to be in the top one or two straight away.”

Tottenham play Manchester United on Thursday night as they look to get their fight for a top-four berth back on track.
