On the other hand, Victor Osimhen helped his team win their first Scudetto since 1988, a feat the Diego Maradona achieved with the side from Naples.

The 24-year-old who currently wears the No.9 shirt in the Super Eagles has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season.

Osimhen also helped his team Napoli reach the Champions League semi finals having scored five goals before being knocked out by Serie A rivals AC Milan in the last eight.

What Babayaro thinks

Despite the contrasting statistics between Awoniyi and Osimhen, Babayaro believes the Nottingham Forest star has the technical ability of the late Yekini.

Bayaro told OwnGoal:

“When I watch him play, it’s like Yekini in his prime.

“The way he comes alive in the box. And fights for every ball.

“He uses his body very well and don’t need to get much involved before scoring. He is to me more like Yekini than Osimhen. Their style is so similar.”
