Manchester City and Arsenal have been fined for referee-related misconduct from their Premier League clash on February 15.
The English FA announced that an independent regulatory commission has fined Arsenal and Manchester City for misconduct exhibited by their players in their last Premier League clash on February 15 that ended 3-1 in favour of Manchester City.
Manchester City and Arsenal are the top two teams in the Premier League, and they are in stiff competition for the title. The importance of the occasion in their last meeting led to tempers boiling over and players from both teams crowding referee Anthony Taylor and his assistants.
Arsenal and Manchester City fined
Arsenal and Manchester City were fined after admitting to the FA's accusations that they failed to ensure their players behaved properly, according to a statement on the FA's website today.
Manchester City were fined £75,000 for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an acceptable manner in the 42nd and 64th minutes of the game against Arsenal.

Arsenal, on the other hand, were fined an initial £65,000 for failing to ensure orderly conduct from their players in the incident that happened in the 56th minute of the match against Manchester City.
They were handed an additional £20,000 fine for misconduct earlier in the season against Oxford. Arsenal were fined £60,000 in that instance, of which £20,000 was suspended provided they did not engage in any more breaches. The penalty has now been triggered as they have erred on the condition.
The heated encounter
Manchester City and Arsenal faced off in the Premier League on February 15, in a tie that was meant to have repercussions for the title race.
A victory for Arsenal would have helped them open a six-point gap on City, but Manchester City's win brought them level on points with the Gunners and ahead on goal difference.
However, the advantage Manchester City earned in the tie has since been lost as Pep's side drew their next game against Aston Villa, while Arsenal fought back to win against Aston Villa to re-establish their lead.
