Sir Alex Ferguson's entry into the Premier League Hall of Fame has been acknowledged by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

As the first two managers to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, Ferguson joins his former nemesis, Arsene Wenger. The pair were chosen after leaving a lasting legacy at their respective clubs.

Arsene Wenger won three Premier League titles at Arsenal, and Sir Alex Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles at Manchester United with both managers being at their best in England during their time there.

Erik ten Hag still feels Alex Ferguson’s presence at the club

During his time as manager of Manchester United, Alex Ferguson converted the club into what it is today, according to Erik ten Hag, who has complimented him for his accomplishments.

Speaking about Ferguson’s presence around the club, Ten Hag said (via Manchester Evening News): “You feel it every day because he left a legacy and Manchester United is Alex Ferguson. He set the highest standards, the highest values and brought the winning attitude.

“He built that in the club, and that is the standard that you must face if you want to play for Manchester United or work for Manchester United.”

Alex Ferguson is the best manager in English football

The two times Champion League winner led Manchester United to 13 league titles in his era and Ten Hag has gone on to say he is the best manager English football has seen.

Ten Hag still speaking said, “First of all, he knew when to rebuild and reconstruct a new team because he did it over two decades and every time he was successful. He did it with a balance of homegrown players and bringing big stars in.

“He got the best out of it, like working with Eric Cantona, working with Wayne Rooney. That is huge if you are able to handle those personalities, but also to let them play as a team.

“That was always one of his most important qualities – that the team is always above any individual. It’s difficult to construct one winning team… he did it so many times over 26 years!”

Since the Premier League's start in 1992, individuals who have demonstrated outstanding success and made a significant contribution are recognized and honored in the Hall of Fame. Erik ten Hag aspires to it, but he is aware that it will require years of perseverance and success.
