The English Premier League is the wealthiest domestic football competition, with monies awarded to each club hitting millions of dollars.

The total Premier League prize money combines their equal share of the TV prize money, their facilities payment per broadcast and merit share based on league position.

The top positions and being on TV numerous times can land a club over UGX. 700bn (£150m), while the bottom sides get close to UGX. 470bn (£100m).

According to the official figures from the Premier League, Manchester City earned around UGX for topping the league—718 bn (£153m).

Runners-up Arsenal not only gave City a run for their money in the title race but also earned Ugandan shillings 700bn, which is approximately £149 million.

Manchester United, in third, were not far off as they bagged UGX.680bn (£145m), while fourth-placed Newcastle United took home UGX—660 bn, which is around £141 million.

They were followed by Liverpool with UGX. Six hundred forty-two billion (£137m), while Brighton in sixth took UGX—624 billion (£133m).

Six-time champions Chelsea, who finished in an abysmal 12th place, smiled at UGX—520 billion, which is in the region of £111 million.

Shockingly though, despite being relegated to the English Championship, 18th-placed Leicester City earned UGX—417 billion (£89m).

Leeds United, in 19th, went down with UGX. 398bn (£85m), while bottom side Southampton had something to cheer about with UGX. 384bn (about £82m).

The figures are no comparison to so many leagues in the world, including some of the most competitive.

It's worth noting that Vipers SC, who won the Uganda Premier League, took home just UGX. 60 million, which is about £12, 500.

Rock-bottom side Onduparaka FC bagged a laughable UGX—700,000, only about £149.
