The England legend seems happy to see Kane move to Germany which will leave his Premier League record intact for a longer period

England legend Alan Shearer seems delighted that his Premier League record of 260 goals will not be broken any time soon following news that Harry Kane is set to undergo a medical at Bayern Munich.

The former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers striker offered a classy reaction to the latest development after Tottenham Hotspur reached an agreement to sell the striker to Bayern for over £100m - a record for the Bundesliga giants.

Shearer posted a photo of himself dressed as a pilot and standing next to a private jet with the caption: “Come on Harry it’s time to go,” which suggests he is happy to see him leave.

Kane, who has 213 Premier League goals was the closest to breaking Shearer’s Premier League record but he has opted for trophies at Bayern rather than chase the milestone.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen had on Thursday, August 10 urged Kane to stay at Tottenham and become a Premier League lend by breaking the record rather than moving to a league dominated by one team.

“I know Bayern are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Harry Kane, I’d stay put. There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them,” Owen posted online.

“Real Madrid, I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter. Becoming the all-time Premier League top goal scorer at Tottenham is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one team.”

Kane is both Tottenham and England’s all-time top scorer and is second on the list of the Premier League’s most prolific forwards, 47 below Shearer’s record.

At 30 and given he averages 25 league goals a season, he is well within reach but he is yet to win a major silverware in his career, which has played a part in his decision given he is guaranteed trophies at Bayern.
