Brentford’s Ivan Toney has vowed to tell his side of the recent gambling scandal
Brentford star Ivan Toney, who was recently suspended for eight months, has promised to reveal his side of the story soon.
Toney ready to reveal gambling hell
The Bees’ striker was recently handed an eight-month ban after being found guilty of numerous breaches of the FA’s gambling rules.
The England international has taken to social media platform Twitter to promise a no-holds-barred revelation of his version of events after the FA released a report on the findings of his case.
The 27-year-old forward will miss the rest of this season as well a huge slice of next season, but has still been backed by Brentford to make a strong comeback.
Toney expected to spend eight months without football
Toney was found guilty of 232 gambling breaches committed between 2017 and 2021, and was fined £50,000 and suspended for eight months in the FA crackdown, but it appears there is more to the story and Toney is gearing up to tell it.
The striker was non-committal about a date for his expose, but we can be sure it will be explosive when he decides to talk.
The English FA are also set to petition FIFA to extend Toney’s ban beyond England which will prevent him from playing on loan at another club in a different league while his suspension is on-going.
