Marc Cucurella’s agent Álvaro Dominguez has debunked recent reports linking the Chelsea defender with a move away from the club this summer.

The Spanish international joined Chelsea from Brighton in the summer of 2022 for a deal worth an initial £56m with £7m in add-ons.

Since joining the Blues last season, he has failed to impress and has struggled to live up to his price tag.

According to reports, he has been linked with a move away from Chelsea after a disappointing first season.

However, his representative has made it clear that the news linking Cucurella to Spain is fake news and should be disregarded.

Cucurella’s agent debunks Atletico Madrid link

Cucurella’s agent has spoken regarding the recent reports linking his client with a move to Atletico Madrid and has called it a piece of fake news.

According to Romano Fabrizio on Twitter, Marc Cucurella’s representative Álvaro Dominguez publicly denies stories on the Spanish left-back offered to Atlético Madrid.

Álvaro Dominguez used two words for the reports, he said, “Fake news”. He asked the public to disregard such news and insisted that Marc Cucurella will remain at Chelsea.

Marc Cucurella will be looking to start the new season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino next season and will be hoping he can impress and start the new season on a clean slate.

Chelsea trimming its current squad

The Blues are currently trimming their squad ahead of next season as new manager Mauricio Pochettino resumes his duty as Chelsea manager.

Chelsea are currently selling some of their players this summer after a disappointing campaign last season leaving them in 12th position in the Premier League table.

The likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Koulibaly, Kante, Aubameyang, Kovacic, Loftus Cheek and many more have all left the club this summer.

With the new season gradually getting closer, the Blues are working hard to make sure that they trim their squad and get in new quality players in other to begin a new chapter with new manager Pochettino.
