Club Brugge announces new head coach.

Club Brugge have announced Scott Parker as their new head coach.

The 42-year-old who held the role in the Premier League this season with Bournemouth before his sack would replace Carl Hoefkens as the head coach of Club Brugge.

Scott Parker succeeds Carl Hoefkens

Club Brugge fired manager Carl Hoefkens on Wednesday, December 28th.

They went searching for a replacement immediately, with names like Steven Gerrard and Danish national team coach Kasper Hjulmund heading their list.

They were turned down by Gerrard and Hjulmund, but not Scott Parker, who the club have now announced as the new head coach.

The club put out a statement on their website this evening, where they announced Scott Parker as the successor of Carl Hoefkens.

Club Brugge get an exciting manager

The former Chelsea and Newcastle footballer can be best remembered for his efforts in the successful campaigns of Fulham and Bournemouth's qualification into the Premier League.

He played an exciting brand of football with both sides, and won qualification in exciting fashion.

However, in both instances, he failed to replicate the success he had in the Championship with his expansive brand of football in the Premier League.

Club Brugge are one of the best teams in the Belgian Pro League, and Scott Parker could find it easier to play his brand of football with them than he did with basement teams in the Premier League.

If his performances in the English Championship is anything to go by, Club Brugge have exciting times ahead of them.
