Atletico Madrid picked up a statement 6-1 victory against Sevilla, helping them displace Real Sociedad in third place, who drew against Cadiz.

Sevilla's loss saw them drop down to 17th, level on points with Almeria in the relegation zone. Getafe leapfrogged Sevilla, moving into 16th position on goal difference, with a win against Girona.

The players at the forefront of the entertaining gameweek have been cut down to 11 that best fit into a 4-2-1-3 formation for the Pulse Sports LaLiga team of the week

Goalkeeper: Claudio Bravo (Real Betis) v Real Madrid

Claudio Bravo retained his spot as the preferred goalkeeper for Manuel Pellegrini's side, as he has maintained a top level of performance since standing in for the formerly injured Rui Silva.

The goalkeeper was in fine form once more against Real Madrid, helping Manuel Pellegrini's side keep a clean sheet to earn a point against the defending champions.

The Chilean made five saves, with four of them coming from shots in the box. His gamesmanship was also integral to Betis getting a result on the day, as he led his team to a draw against a difficult opponent.

Right-back: Juan Foyth Almeria v (Villarreal)

Foyth was very impressive in Villarreal's 2-0 victory against Almeria.

The Argentina international made a whopping seven tackles, shutting down the threat from the left side of Almeria's attack, generated by El Bilal Toure and Adrian Embarba.

He completed 100 per cent of his aerial duels and 12 of 16 attempted ground duels.

Centre-back: German Pezzella (Real Betis) v Real Madrid

With right-back Youssouf Sabaly tasked with offensive responsibilities, Pezzella was often responsible for keeping an eye on Vinicius Junior. He executed his role perfectly, keeping the Brazilian winger quiet on the day.

Pezzella won four tackles and made an interception, winning five of five attempted aerial duels.  He also made a whopping 10 clearances and made one block.

Centre-back: Robin Le Normand (Real Sociedad) v Cadiz

Real Sociedad did not manage to get all three points they aimed for, but Le Normand's performance in defence ensured they got at least one.

He made five clearances while winning 100% of his ground duels and seven of nine attempted aerial duels.

Left-back: Alfonso Espino Real Sociedad v (Cadiz)

On the other side of an impressive performance in the 0-0 draw between Real Sociedad and Cadiz was Alfonso Espino.

The Uruguayan left-back made five tackles along with three interceptions while creating a scoring chance for his teammate.

Centre midfielder: Federico Valverde was the standout player for Real Madrid in their 0-0 draw against Real Betis.

Valverde was important in all three phases of play for Real Madrid, defensively, in the middle of the park, and offensively.

Valverde completed 100% of his dribbles, attempted four of them, won three tackles, made two clearances, created a big chance, and came out on top in seven of eight attempted duels.

Centre midfielder: Dani Parejo Almeria v (Villarreal)

Dani Parejo was at his impeccable best in Villarreal's 2-0 victory over Almeria, pulling the strings in midfield while creating goal-scoring opportunities in the final third.

The 33-year-old maestro created four chances, with one of them being a big chance. He completed 100% of his attempted long balls and completed three crosses.

Defensively, he also won four tackles and seven of eight duels.

Attacking midfielder: Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) v Sevilla

Antoine Griezmann was a standout player in LaLiga this week in Atletico Madrid's 6-1 demolition of Sevilla.

Griezmann scored and assisted in the game, completing 100% of his dribbles and creating two big chances.

Right-wing: Samuel Chukwueze Almeria v (Villarreal)

Samuel Chukwueze continued his stellar form this season, helping Villarreal trounce Almeria.

The Nigerian winger was involved in both goals his team scored, assisting Gerard Moreno to fire Villarreal and Morales to seal the victory.

He also completed five dribbles of the seven he attempted, while maintaining an above 80% pass completion rate.

Centre-forward: Enes Unal (Getafe) v Girona

Enes Unal showed the form that helps him rank amongst the top goalscorers in LaLiga this season, hitting a brace to help Getafe down high-flying Girona.

Left-winger: Memphis Depay (Atletico Madrid) v Sevilla

Memphis Depay combined brilliantly with Antoine Griezmann in Atletico Madrid's routing of Sevilla.

The Dutch striker scored a brace and could have grabbed a hat-trick but for poor finishing. He also created one chance and completed 100% of his dribbles.
