Chelsea sweating on Romero Lavia’s fitness after suffering ankle injury in training

According to reports, Chelsea's new signing Romero Lavia has picked up an ankle injury during training.

Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton for a fee worth £58 million last month but has not featured for the Blues.

Since joining Chelsea, he has been improving his fitness after spending little time during training sessions.

However, he has picked up a worrisome ankle injury and has gone for a scan which has left the club sweating on his fitness.

Chelsea worried about Lavis’s injury

Romeo Lavia, a summer signing for Chelsea has had a scan after sustaining an ankle injury during practice.

The midfielder slid over on his ankle during practice on Thursday after being challenged and is having his injury evaluated today.

According to reports from Daily Mail, Chelsea has already seen a number of injury setbacks this season and will be praying for good news for Lavia’s injury.

The Blues have lost defenders Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah before going on their pre-season tour of America, as well as summer signing Christopher Nkunku.

Reece James also experienced hamstring trouble in practice after Chelsea's season-opening loss to Liverpool, and Carney Chukwuemeka hurt his knee in last month's defeat at West Ham.

Mykhailo Mudryk has also been absent due to an injury but was back in the lineup for the team's most recent loss against Nottingham Forest.

This season, Benoit Badiashile and Armando Broja are yet to play for Chelsea while they recuperate from hamstring and knee injuries respectively.
