Gor Mahia are aiming to continue their winning streak against Posta Rangers in a closely contested match on Saturday.

Gor Mahia is on the verge of extending their remarkable unbeaten streak against Posta Rangers as the two teams prepare to face off at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos this Saturday.

K'Ogalo has managed a commendable record against Rangers, securing four victories out of eight encounters, alongside one draw and three losses.

This match-up is particularly significant as it follows their first-leg victory in the 2023/2024 FKF Premier League season, where Gor Mahia narrowly defeated Rangers 1-0 in a game that took place on January 6, 2024.

The previous match was a testament to Gor Mahia's strategic prowess, despite the unexpected decision by head coach Jonathan McKinstry to bench Benson Omala, the league's top scorer.

This move, however, did not deter K'Ogalo from clinching a victory, thanks to Kennedy Onyango's decisive goal in the 39th minute.

Onyango's header, perfectly timed to meet Alpha Onyango's corner pass, was enough to secure the win against Rangers' goalkeeper Michael Wanjala.

The second half saw McKinstry introducing fresh legs, with Boniface Omondi and Lawrence Juma coming on for Patrick Sibomana and Ernest Wendo, respectively.

The crowd erupted in applause as Omala made his appearance, replacing Bryson Wangai, 64 minutes into the game. Despite these attack-minded substitutions, Gor Mahia was unable to widen the gap but ultimately emerged victorious, maintaining their lead for all three points at stake.

Rangers' last triumph over Gor Mahia dates back to October 2022, in a match that concluded 1-0 in their favor against a ten-man K'Ogalo.

Recent encounters between these two sides have been tightly contested, with fewer than 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four meetings, indicating a trend of closely fought battles.

Currently leading the FKF Premier League table, Gor Mahia boasts an impressive season with 47 points, attributed to 13 wins, 8 draws, and a solitary loss across all competitions.

Their home performance has been particularly strong, with a tally of 26 goals scored against 10 conceded, averaging 1.00 goals per match in home games. Their recent form includes four wins, one draw, and one loss in the last six matches.

On the other side, Posta Rangers stand second in the league with 39 points, having secured 11 wins, 6 draws, and 5 losses this season.

Rangers have managed to net 23 goals while conceding 11, showcasing a solid defensive and offensive display.

Their form over the last six games includes three wins, one draw, and two losses, indicating their competitive spirit.
