The Blues’ are keen to have a new goalkeeper next season after inconsistent performances by Mendy and Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea’s bid to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly been rejected.

The 27-year-old has been massively linked with a move to the Premier League, especially Chelsea, but a move is now unlikely, going by recent claims.

The Blues are keen to have a new goalkeeper for the next season, but their effort to acquire one has faced a hurdle with their first bid being rejected.

Onana, who has managed to establish himself as a regular starter for the Serie A club, is understood to be Chelsea’s number one target.

In his 40 appearances this season, the Cameroonian international has kept 19 clean sheets and helped the Italian outfit reach the Champions League final.

With Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy failing to impress with inconsistent performances last season, a new goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge remains a priority.

Inter are said to have rejected a €40 million bid by Chelsea and can only return to the negotiation table after the Champions League final against Manchester City on Saturday.

Onana is said to have ambitions of playing in the Premier League, and further reports indicate that Romelu Lukaku, on loan to Inter from Chelsea, could be included in the deal.
