Robert Lewandowski has given his verdict on the possibility of playing with Lionel Messi at Barcelona next season.

Lionel Messi is set to become a free agent at the end of the season after spending two years with Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona, his possible destination when he leaves.

Barcelona remain keen to sign the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner at the end of the season and Lewandowski is looking at the possibility of teaming up with the Argentine for a second stint at Barca.

Lewandowski speaks on Messi

The Polish striker has spoken about Messi’s return to Barcelona and he is eager to play with the Argentine when he joins the club.

Speaking in an interview, Lewandowski said, "I would like to play with him here. He has changed his style in recent years. It's easier to play with players who understand football as deeply as he does.

"Leo's style of play has evolved in recent years," Lewandowski continued. "He thinks differently, positions himself differently on the field, plays the ball differently. He has a unique sense. We would definitely use him."

Lewandowski, who won the La Liga title in his first season at Camp Nou, is presently in the lead to win Spain's Pichichi top scorer award.

Lewandowski proud of his team's achievement

Barcelona are the current winner of the LaLiga title and Lewandowski has hailed his team for a good job this season.

Still speaking, "I'm proud of our season. Winning the league and the Super Cup is a great achievement. This title tastes different to those won with [former club] Bayern [Munich], and I won eight in a row. Here we are in transition. We're building something new.

Lewandowski is currently the leading top scorer in LaLiga this season and he’s hoping for a better next season.

Lewandowski said, "It was difficult with the World Cup in between. It wasn't a normal pre-season for me. I'm sure I can do better in the second year.”
