Arsenal have reportedly identified a striker on Barcelona's radar as a transfer target.
Arsenal have reportedly registered concrete interest in Karl Etta-Eyong, the highly-rated Cameroon forward whose rapid rise over the last 18 months has placed him firmly on Europe’s elite radar.
The 21-year-old has progressed steadily, becoming a full Cameroon international, earning his senior debut in September 2025 and retaining a spot in the Indomitable Lions at the AFCON.
Interest in Etta-Eyong
Barcelona have tracked him since he broke through at Villarreal. That interest has continued into this season, as he continues to show his quality at Levante.
He is also being watched by other LALIGA clubs like Atlético Madrid, Villarreal and Real Sociedad, all of whom have made formal scouting enquiries.
Arsenal's interest
According to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal’s interest is being driven by sporting director Andrea Berta, who is leveraging his extensive Spanish network to gather intelligence and open early dialogue with Etta-Eyong’s representatives.
The Gunners are in the market for forwards, according to the report, and while a move for Julian Alvarez takes priority, he is expected to be an expensive pursuit; hence, they are evaluating the market for other options, including Karl.
Barcelona remain firmly in the race, but Arsenal believe their guarantee of immediate Premier League exposure, which the youngster has publicly expressed interest in, could give them an edge.
With Etta-Eyong’s current contract running until June 2028 and his valuation now climbing beyond €35–40 million, competition is expected to intensify in the summer, as he is reasonably priced in an inflated market.
