Amazulu chairman Sandile Zungu has addressed transfer speculation regarding the Kenyan international.

South Africa Premier Soccer League side Amazulu FC has moved swiftly to clarify the transfer situation surrounding Kenyan international Vincent Oburu.

Earlier reports had suggested that the striker was set to sign with the South African Premier Soccer League side, but it has now been confirmed that he will undergo trials before any deal is finalized.

Oburu, a 25-year-old forward currently playing for Zambian Super League side Zesco United, arrived in Zambia on Tuesday amid speculation of an imminent transfer to Amazulu.

However, Sendile Zungu, the chairman of Amazulu, has revealed that Oburu's move is contingent on his performance during these trials.

"Vincent Oburu, a Kenyan forward who plays for Zesco, is coming to Amazulu. If we assess and like him, we'll sign him," stated Zungu in an official statement as per FarPost.

While many fans had been anticipating a direct signing, it is now evident that Amazulu is taking a cautious approach to evaluate the player's abilities and compatibility with the team.

Oburu's journey in professional football has seen him develop his skills and gain valuable experience with Kenyan clubs Wazito and AFC Leopards.

His time at Zesco United has further honed his talents, making him an attractive prospect for Amazulu as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Amazulu's decision to pursue Oburu reflects their desire to address their goal-scoring woes this season.

The team has struggled in front of the net, managing to find the back of the net just once in their first five DStv Premiership games.

Augustine Kwem's goal in their previous match against TS Galaxy was a crucial moment as it secured their first win of the season with a narrow 1-0 victory.

As of now, Amazulu finds themselves in the 14th position on the league standings, having collected six points from their five games.

Oburu, known for his speed, technical ability, and clinical finishing, could be the missing piece in Amazulu's puzzle.

The upcoming trials will allow the coaching staff and management to assess how well he fits into their playing style and team dynamics.

The Kenyan striker still has two years remaining on his contract with Zesco United, adding an additional layer of complexity to the potential transfer.

Negotiations with his current club will likely be a part of the process should Oburu impress during his trials with Amazulu.
