Barcelona superstar Asisat Oshoala and former skipper Desire Oparanozie are back in the national team after joining their Super Falcons mates in Turkey to prepare for a double-header against Haiti and New Zealand

Barcelona Femeni forward Asisat Oshoala has finally landed in Turkey to join her Super Falcons teammates.

This much Pulse Sports Nigeria can confirm following confirmation of her arrival by the team on their official account.

According to the Falcons, the talented striker was one of ten new arrivals who landed in the Antalya camp ahead of their breakfast on Wednesday morning.

“10 new arrivals before our breakfast today in Antalya,” the team said in a post on their official Twitter page.

Nigeria will play Haiti and New Zealand on April 7 and 11 in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum called up 24 players for the two games, with camp officially opening on Tuesday.

About nine players were already in camp but there is no sight of the 28-year-old superstar, Oshoala as earlier reported by Pulse Sports.

Oshoala has not played for Nigeria since the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco last year.

The Barcelona star missed Nigeria’s Revelation Cup campaign in Mexico last February, pulling out of the squad due to injury.

However, just before their breakfast on Wednesday, the former Arsenal star and nine others hit camp.

The others who arrived alongside the Barcelona star include Tosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, Gift Monday, Asisat Oshoala, Ngozi Okobi, Toni Payne, Christy Uchiebe & Rasheedat Ajibade.

Meanwhile, in a related development, fresh from making history in China where she became a League champion, former captain of the Falcons Desire has also arrived at the camp.

Oparanozie is making a return to the Falcons after a long absence from the team and has joined up with her national teammates, taking the number of players in camp to 20, with four players still expected.

“Desire Oparanozie joined us before lunchtime in Antalya. We are now 20 in camp,” the Falcons noted. The 29-year-old is making a return to the team for the first time since the Aisha Buhari Cup in 2021.

The players who are still being expected at the time of this report are US based quartet - Ifeoma Onumonu, Michelle Alozie, Jennifer Onyi Echegini, Uchenna Kanu and Osinachi Ohale.

The Falcons had their first training session on Wednesday at the Emir Sports Complex in Antalya with a full house.
