Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa suffered defeat in Aba when Enyimba triumphed over his club Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
A goal from Joseph Atule and another from former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye secured a 2-1 victory for Enyimba over Kano Pillars in an NPFL encounter played in Aba on Saturday.
Reliable striker Joseph Atule broke the deadlock for the home side in the 35th minute, giving the Elephants a crucial lead heading into the halftime break.
The momentum continued for Enyimba early in the second half as veteran forward Brown Ideye, showcasing his experience, added a second goal in the 48th minute, putting the hosts in a commanding 2-0 position.
After going two down, Kano Pillars emerged with renewed determination, launching several attacks on the Enyimba goal in search of a way back into the match. Their efforts saw them penetrate the Enyimba box multiple times, unleashing series of shots.

Enyimba goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena was called into action in the 71st minute, producing a vital save to maintain his side's two-goal cushion.
However, Kano Pillars' persistence eventually paid off in the 81st minute when Naibe Akpesiri managed to pull a goal back for the visitors, reducing the deficit to 2-1.
Despite the late goal from Kano Pillars, Enyimba managed to hold firm in the remaining minutes, securing all three points in a hard-fought contest. The win will be a welcome boost for the Aba giants as they look to climb the NPFL table.
