After Nigeria's convincing 2-0 victory over Cameroon, securing a quarterfinal showdown against Angola on February 2, Asamoah Gyan, 38, took to social media to share his thoughts.

In a post, he specifically praised Nigeria's no.9, stating, 'Osimhen plays with passion. That's what every country wants their players to do.'

While the compliment seems directed at Osimhen's exemplary commitment, Gyan's words carry an undertone that appears to be a sly dig at the Black Stars of Ghana.

Ghana failed to qualify from the group stages having had to rely on specific outcomes that did not materialize.
