AFC Leopards will continue their chase for a first league win in a high-stakes clash against Nzoia Sugar FC.

After playing seven matches without a single win, AFC Leopards are gearing up for a crucial showdown against Nzoia Sugar FC on Sunday afternoon at the Sudi Stadium.

The once-vibrant buzz surrounding Tomas Trucha's return for a second spell as the head coach quickly fizzled out following Ingwe's 1-0 loss to Bandari last weekend, marking their third defeat of the season.

Leopards, languishing in the depths of a winless streak, are desperately seeking a turnaround after a disastorus run that has seen fans losing patient on the side.

Ingwe will be parading a formidable lineup that includes seven former Nzoia players - Humphrey Katasi, Vincent Mahiga, Randy Bakari, Boniface Munyendo, Hassan Beja, and Yassin Beja.

This infusion of fresh talent has come with its challenges, as the team welcomed a whopping 15 new players.

Ingwe coach Trucha remains optimistic about their integration, stating, "All the players are trying their best to absorb all the new information and instructions in the shortest time possible. Every player used in the Bandari match fought for the team, and players who sat on the bench gave full support."

On the other side of the pitch, Nzoia Sugar is grappling with its own set of woes. A mass exodus during the transfer window forced them to virtually rebuild their squad, resulting in a rocky start to the season.

The Sugar Millers have managed only one victory, two draws, and have suffered four losses so far.

Both teams find themselves perilously close to the relegation zone, with AFC Leopards in 17th place, accumulating a mere four points, while Nzoia Sugar sit just one point above them.

Memories of their last meeting on May 7th last season, where Leopards secured a 1-0 victory in Nairobi, may provide a glimmer of hope and motivation for the struggling Ingwe side.

The upcoming clash between Leopards and Nzoia Sugar is a critical fixture that could potentially define the direction of their respective seasons.

Fans and football enthusiasts alike will be eagerly watching as these two teams, plagued by early-season setbacks, fight to climb out of the relegation quagmire.

The match promises to be a spectacle, with Azam Pay Television broadcasting it live, starting at 4 pm. This will mark the fifth live match of the season, bringing the intensity of the encounter straight to the screens of fans nationwide.

In addition to the AFC Leopards-Nzoia Sugar showdown, Sunday's football extravaganza includes other high-octane matches.

Nairobi City Stars will take on KCB at Kasarani Annex, with kick-off set for 1 pm, while Kariobangi Sharks will lock horns with Kakamega Homeboyz at the same venue, beginning at 3 pm.
