AFC Leopards can make it five straight wins when they host a Murang’a Seal side that has not won any of their last 10 games in Sunday’s encounter at Nyayo Stadium

AFC Leopards will seek to make it five straight wins when they take on Murang’a Seal at the Nyayo Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Leopards are the form team of the league after putting together an impressive four-match winning run that has seen them scale up the table from the relegation places to 10th spot and things can get even better if they manage maximum points.

Tomas Trucha’s men are yet to drop a point in 2024 after managing just two wins in their previous 16 games before the bright run started.

The good run has been down to an efficiency in front of goal, added to a mean defence, having scored six goals while not conceding any during that period and they will feel that Murang’a are the perfect side to extend their good run with, given their poor form.

The newly-promoted team have been on a free fall, failing to win any of their last 10 matches, a period when they managed to collect just four out of a possible 30 points.

Murang’a last won a match on November 5 when they beat Tusker FC 2-1 and since then, it has been a struggle that saw coach Gabriel ‘Kingi’ Njoroge sacked and even the appointment of veteran tactician Juma Abdallah last month has not stopped the hemorrhage.

Leopards and Murang’a played out a 1-1 draw when the two sides met in the Premier League for the first time last December and there is now confidence among the Ingwe faithful that three points are well within reach.

However, Abdallah will be keen to right his side’s recent wrongs against one of his former sides but he will have to ensure his side keep it tight at the back.

Murang’a have kept just one clean sheet since their purple patch began and that was against leaders Gor Mahia before they went on a losing spree.

That means confidence is at an all-time low but if the veteran coach can get a tune out of his players, Sunday’s match could be a turning point into their season.
