Bandari FC achieved a comeback victory against Nzoia in a FKF Premier League match played at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.

Bandari FC came back to defeat Nzoia 2-1 in an FKF Premier League match at the Sudi Stadium on Saturday evening.

The victory took Bandari to fourth place on the league standings, while the Sugar Millers remained at the bottom of the table.

The match got off to a lively start with the two teams launching attacks in search of an early goal in the first 10 minutes of the match.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Derrick Nsibambi's sublime cross was sent into the back of net by Abdallah Kasis who made it 1-0 to Bandari.

Still, the Sugar Millers pressed on and had a few decent shots on goal but Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka was in good form and made some fine saves to keep Nzoia at bay.

Fred Shiundu, the Nzoia goalkeeper, was called into action six minutes later and he denied Ugandan international Nsibambi from a free-kick.

Nzoia took control of the match towards the half-hour mark and Steve Otieno's long-range effort hit the upright with Joseph Ochuka well-beaten.

Steve Otieno then connected with Titus Wafula's cross nine before halftime, but the former Kariobangi Sharks striker placed his header over the crossbar.

Bandari led Nzoia Sugar 1-0 at the halftime break.

Nzoia were the better side after the restart and they deservedly foud an equaliser in the 56th minute from the spot courtesy of David Simiyu.

The equaliser just came three minutes after Bandari's Francis Kahiro had a penalty saved by Nzoia Sugar goalkeeper Fred Shiundu.

Nzoia were struggling to contain the hosts, who took the lead for the first time in the 71st minute when Francis Kahiro scored against the run of play to make it 2-1 to Bandari.

The hosts then fought for a late equalising goal, but the visitors stood firm at the back and ultimately, Bandari ran out 2-1 winners over Nzoia Sugar.
