Marseille reportedly reach agreement to sign Terem Moffi

Marseille have made significant headway in their pursuit of Nigerian striker Terem Moffi as reportedly reached an agreement with Lorient.

Reports suggest that Lorient have agreed to accept Senegalese forward Bamba Dieng from Marseille in exchange for Terem Moffi.

Dieng almost left Les Phoceens in the summer before failing a medical at Nice and returning to Marseille. He is now being used as a make way in the deal to bring Moffi to the Velodrome.

Although Marseille and Lorient have agreed, Foot Mercato reports that the deal is far from done as there are many variables and moving pieces in what is turning into an increasingly complicated transfer.

OGC Nice and West Ham United have also been in the race to sign Moffi and have submitted bids for the forward which have not been accepted so far by Lorient.

Marseille entered into the bidding process late, but have seemingly skipped the queue by including 22-year-old Dieng in a player-plus-cash deal.

Moffi who has scored 12 goals in 18 games so far is said to prefer OGC Nice whom he has an agreement in place with as his next destination.

But the transfer has yet another layer of complication as Everton are said to be interested in signing Dieng directly from Marseille after missing out on Arnaut Danjuma their primary target who was hijacked by Tottenham
