Nigeria's Adijat Gbadamosi makes history as she wins ABU Title at 'King of the Ring 3'

Gbadamosi, a 2018 youth Olympic Silver medalist, won a TKO victory over Zimbawean Soldier girl Patience Mastara in the fifth round of their scheduled ten rounds to win the Africa Super Bantamweight female title.

Nigeria's Adijat 'Dija' Gbadamosi made history by becoming the first Nigerian woman to win an African boxing title.

Gbadamosi, a 2018 youth Olympic Silver medalist, won a TKO victory over Zimbawean Soldier girl Patience Mastara in the fifth round of their scheduled ten rounds to win the Africa Super Bantamweight female title.

The third installment of the 'King of the Ring' series was organized by Monarch Events and Promotions takes place at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

'King of the Ring 3'

The arena was lit up with the huge card of international boxing headlined by the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Super Flyweight Championship.

Tasif Khan, a Pakistani living in Bradford, England and the current WBO Africa Super Flyweight champion (17-1-2, 9KOs), won the coveted WBC Silver Super Flyweight championship in the evening's main event.

The veteran Khan stopped Venezuelan David Barreto (17-3-0, 16KOs) in the second round of their twelve-round fight, which was scheduled.

Barreto was knocked out in the opening round, and the Belgian referee, Brahim Ait Aadi, called it off after Barreto was knocked out twice in the second round.

Other winners

Victor Beneth of Nigeria defeated Moses Kwaku of Ghana by unanimous decision in the light heavyweight division.

Kwaku, a last-minute replacement for Anele Bafana of Zimbabwe who was unable to attend owing to flying complications, engaged Beneth in a customary Nigeria vs Ghana battle. The contest was deemed to be the evening's best fight.

In the Super Middleweight division, Ezra 'Nigerian King' Arenyeka of Manchestet defeated Philibert Sodjinou of the Benin Republic by first-round TKO. Eight rounds were allotted for the fight. Ezra, the reigning super middleweight champion of Nigeria, has a perfect 11-0 record with 9 knockouts.

Temirzhan Baimolda of Kazakhstan defeated Komlangan Hounkpatin of Togo by unanimous decision in a Super Lightweight match with eight rounds remaining (5-0, 3KOs).

Prince Oko Nartey of Ghana (11-1, 10KOs) effectively knocked out Felix Mankatah of Ghana (who retired after the third of the contest's eight rounds and did not come out for the fourth).

In one of the other matches on the undercard that included Ghanaians, Isaac Commey defeated Kofi Ansah Raymond by way of a TKO.

In the Welterweight division, Fosu Thompson defeated Samuel Lartei Lartey by KO, and Faisal Abubakari defeated Enoch Lamptey by TKO to improve his unbeaten record to 14-0, 12 KOs.

Star Super The admirers of Ghanaian performer Stone Bwoy clamoured for more after his thrilling performance.

On the night of King of the Mountain, Nigerian artists Jumabee, B-Tone, and C-Prince all made their presence known.

The previous two editions of the series were held in Lagos, Nigeria and the next is billed for South Africa.
