Malik Scott trainer of American professional boxer Deontay Wilder has tipped his client to emerge victorious against English professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua.
Joshua recorded a unanimous decision victory against American professional boxer Jermaine Franklin at the 02 Arena in
The former two-time unified heavyweight champion was expected to knock out a low-ranked contender in Franklin but held on for a victory from the judges' scorecard.

It was a return to winning ways for Joshua after suffering back-to-back defeats against Ukranian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk defeated Joshua back in 2021 to become the new IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO heavyweight title holder.

Scott followed Joshua's fight against Franklin and shared his thoughts in a recent interview with Boxing King Media.
There was criticism that Joshua has lost his aggressiveness following the back-to-back defeats to Usyk.

Scott sees it differently, explaining in the interview that Joshua's problem precedes the fight against Usyk.
The former trainer explained that after Joshua suffered his first loss to Mexican professional Andy Ruiz in New York back in 2019 it has been downhill.
He believes that Joshua since the stoppage against Ruiz has been hesitant to be involved in exchanges.
Scott said, “He comes across as a little bit gun-shy. Ever since he fought Ruiz, even when he has looked at his best, in my opinion against [Kubrat] Pulev and Ruiz II, those were still real tactical, safety-first victories for him.
“Ever since that [loss to Ruiz], he has been overthinking in the ring, for someone that big, someone that strong, that can be that imposing on his opponent, that is not a good thing.
"AJ is not a slick guy, he doesn’t punch a little bit hard, he punches very hard.
"He’s a fast guy, he’s actually known for being one of the latest heavyweights that put their punches together very well, but why hasn’t he been putting punches together well in his last three/four fights against smaller opponents?
"It is not a physical thing, I don’t think it is a trainer thing, I think this is a mental thing.”

Scott then gave his verdict on a potential fight between his client and Joshua.
The trainer was bullish on the chances of Wilder insisting that the fight would not go beyond the third rounds.

Despite the difficult win against Franklin, Joshua has stated that he wants a massive boxing battle in Britain next against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
He said, "That’s the WBC Heavyweight Champion of the world, bro. That’s what it’s about.”
