From basketball to Dentist... Nigeria's D'Tigress legend Cecilia Nkemdilim Okoye is now a professional Dentist.

American-born Nigerian basketball player Cecilia Nkemdilim Okoye is back on social media trends.

The 31-year-old former D'Tigress star returns to the trends on social media based on her latest update.

Cecilia Okoye took to her official social media platforms to celebrate her new profession.

Okoye announced her progression from a basketball player to a Dentist with photos.

Along with the photos was a message by Okoye that said, "New beginnings! 🥼🦷

"Last week we received our white coats which marked an important transition in our lives and signifies our commitment to the dental profession!

"Very grateful to be in this position and for the people that helped me get here!"

Back in 2019, Okoye announced her retirement from basketball on social media.

She said, "Our girl is hanging up her shoes after 5 wonderful seasons playing overseas! I've learned a lot from these years, from the good and the bad.

"I've had the opportunity to meet amazing folks who've changed my life for the better.

"I've had the opportunity to see the world for free, was given a chance to represent the Nigerian nation, and there's so much more I'm grateful for and can't wait to see what life has in store for me after basketball 😬 lol Thank you to those who rooted for me through it all!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🇳🇬🇳🇬."
