American professional basketball player Jamel "Ja" Morant has been accused of a disturbing incident by a 17-year-old boy.

The 23-year-old NBA superstar reportedly punched a 17-year-old boy according to a police report.

Morant point guard of the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly punched the 17-year-old boy about 12 or 13 times.

The incident happened in the summer of 2022 during a pickup basketball game.

After the punches, Morant reportedly also flashed a gun at the 17-year-old while threatening a mall security guard.

Morant put his hand on the weapon according to the report obtained in a threatening situation to the boy.

Molly Hensley-Clancy of the Washington Post obtained the details of the incident involving Morant and the 17-year-old boy through police records.

The details obtained by the Washington Post reveal that Morant was in the parking lot of a mall and a member of his group shoved the security guard in the head a few days before the assault.

Morant was later involved with the boy and after the punches went to his house showing up with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants.

The former Murray State guard put his hand on the weapon according to the report obtained in a threatening situation to the boy.

Morant is one of the fast-rising stars in the NBA and has now been involved in multiple incidents off the court.

He recently unveiled his signature shoe by international sports brand Nike and earned his second trip to the NBA All-Star game in Salt Lake, Utah.

Morant is yet to comment on the situation as the Grizzlies are expected to issue a statement.
