Amusan finished sixth in the final, but despite losing her world title to Jamaica's Danielle Williams and not winning a medal, the First Lady sent words of encouragement via her Twitter handle.

Danielle Williams became the surprise women's 100m Hurdles world champion in Budapest as Tobi Amusan finished sixth.
"Well done our beloved Tobi. We are proud of you. Return home to refresh yourself for the victory that awaits you," tweeted the First Lady Remi Tinubu.
The speed hurdler only saw the message days after and responded with high appreciation to the No.1 female citizen of Nigeria.

"My Dear Mummy, you are highly appreciated. Needed to rest after the games, that's why I just saw this; your sincere concern and genuine care bring great relief, modupe gan ni Ma"
She will then repost with another message: "Thank you Mummy."
Amusan had a rough patch before the World Championships as less than a month before the commencement of the prestigious athletics event in Budapest, she was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for an alledged Anti Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of missing three tests in 12 months.
