Texas Tech junior, Rosemary Chukwuma raced to another impressive time, improving her rank on the top list.

It may seem as though with each race ran indoors this year, Rosemary Chukwuma races to a new School Record (SR) and improves her rank on the top list.

This time, the speedster erased her own Personal Best (PB) and SR of 7.11s set two weeks ago, with a new time of 7.09s to win the 60m final at the Texas Tech Open and Multis.

In second place was Kaila Jackson with a PB of 7.16s, and Jadyn Mays third in 7.19s.

Chukwuma's time rises to No. 5 on the all-time Nigerian indoor list and tied for seventh all-time in Africa.

Recall that Chukwuma opened her season with a PB of 7.11s and last week ran a 200m PB and SR of 22.99s - No. 3 on the African all-time list behind Favour Ofili (22.46s) and Murielle Ahoure (22.80s), making her only the third African female athlete to go sub-23s indoors.

With many more meets still to hold in the coming weeks, we should be expecting her to lower these times and continue smashing the records.

The Texas Tech University student is one of the poster girls for Nigerian athletes in the NCAA and tipped to attain several feats this season.
