LSU's Favour Ofili and Godson Brume raced to new 60m lifetime bests in Fayetteville, achieving a new milestone in school history.
Louisiana State University (LSU) is enjoying the returns of investing in Nigerian athletes, as the duo of Favour Ofili and Godson Brume ran massive Personal Bests (PB) to finish second in the 60m final at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville.
Ofili kicked off her impressive performance at the meet, running a new Season's Best (SB) of 7.18s to win her preliminary heat and qualify for the final.

Then she lowered the time to a massive PB of 7.15s to finish second in the final, which is sixth on the LSU all-time performance 60m list.
She was edged out for the win by three-thousandths of a second, with Talitha Diggs also winning in a time of 7.15s.
Consequently, Brume tied his PB of 6.69s in the preliminaries, which was good enough to make the final.

Then he massively dropped it to 6.60s to take second in the final, propelling him to third on the all-time LSU performance list.
Good race for Brume, who has been consistent since the start of the 2023 season; either breaking or equalling his PBs. Now that he has done a 6.60s, he can build on the confidence and target a 6.5s, just like his Nigerian counterparts have done this season.
Meanwhile, Ella Onojuvwevwo ran her second-fastest indoor 400m time, clocking 53.57s to win the event.
