World's fastest man Noah Lyles led another milestone achievement in the men's 200m event.

Three-time world 200m champion Noah Lyles, alongside Letsile Tebogo and Erriyon Knighton, lead a golden era of record-making sub-20s runners in the 2023 season.

Lyles, who dominated the men's sprints at the World Championships in Budapest, won gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m.

By doing this, he became the third American man in history to complete a sprint triple and joined the ranks of Tyson Gay and Maurice Greene, then Usain Bolt, thus cementing his place as one of the top sprinters in history.

While Lyles's 2023 season was highlighted by his impeccable performances in Budapest, his dominance in the 200m was unmatchable, making him lead a golden era of runners in the event.

He maintained his position as world 200m leader for the sixth consecutive year and was undefeated in six 200m finals. Also, recent statistics shown by the World Athletics has Lyles top multiple WR holder Bolt in a rare record that only specific talented athletes in history can attempt.

The reigning world's fastest man overtook the retired legend for the most sub-20s 200m races recorded, going under this mark an incredible 39 times in his career ahead of Bolt's accumulated 34 times, which makes the American the sub-20s king.

And now, the World Athletics has revealed that the 2023 season had the most sub-20s runners recorded, spear-headed by Lyles as the world champion and leader.

A whooping 20 men ran below 20s - the most for a single season. Lyles ran sub-20s six times, as world silver medallist Tebogo blazed it four times, and Knighton eight times.

Others include Nigeria's Udodi Onwuzurike, Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes, and Diamond League champion Andre de Grasse, as part of the current golden era of this historic feat.

This stat released also showed the number of runners were inconsistent since 2003, and it only peaked in 2021, which shows the progress sprinting technology has in the past few years.

With the 2024 Olympic year predicted to be another historic season, these numbers are expected to increase and the golden era of athletes will only get better.
