Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has unveiled his schedule in the build-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and it is evident that he has toned down the number of races as compared to last season.

Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has finally unveiled his schedule in the build-up to the Olympic Games in Paris, France later this year.

Omanyala will be chasing history at the event, and in preparation for that, he has several races lined up for him after having quite a mixed start to his outdoor season where he finished fifth in his first 100m race of the season.

He was in action at the Kip Keino Classic where he hoped to win his third title but unfortunately faded for a fifth-place finish with America’s Kenny Bednarek taking the top prize.

From the unveiled calendar, Africa’s fastest man has certainly toned down the number of races and he will begin his campaign with the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas, happening this weekend.

After that, Omanyala will head out to compete at the Atlanta City Games in Atlanta, USA, an event that holds a special place in his heart since he set the African record over the 150m last year, finishing an impressive second behind triple World Champion Noah Lyles.

The Kenyan will then proceed to the Diamond League Meeting in USA, the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday, June 25, where he will be up against World 60m record holder Christian Coleman and World Indoor 60m bronze medallist Ackeem Blake among other sprinters.

He will then be competing at the Jamaica racers Grand Prix in Jamaica on June 1 with plans to upset the crowds as he gears up for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The 28-year-old started his campaign at the Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting where he won the race in 6.52 and proceeded to the Meeting in Paris where he also won in 6.51.
