Handball: Nigerian coach gets accolade after bagging IHF B Coaching License

Nigeria's Handball President Mr. Samuel Ocheho has congratulated the assistant coach of the Senior Women's Handball team Yusuf Abdulkadir for upgrading to IHF B coaching license.

The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Mr Samuel Ocheho, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to coach Yusuf Abdulkadir for achieving the prestigious IHF B coaching license. 

Abdulkadir accomplished this remarkable feat by successfully competing in the rigorous IHF coaching course held in Monastir, Tunisia, from September 4th to 9th. 

He is currently the assistant coach for the Nigeria Senior Women’s team and the coach of the Ardova Handball Premier League team, Plateau Peacocks.

In his congratulatory message, Ocheho commended his unwavering dedication to knowledge and excellence, qualities that have driven him to become one of the continent’s elite coaches.

Coach Abdulkadir’s achievement, amidst staff competition fromnoyehr esteemed African handball coaches during the course, filled the President with pride and showcased Nigeria on the international stage.

"I am happy about the feat that Coach Yusuf Abdulkadir has attained as he successfully underwent the course, competing with other top African coaches and then passed the IHF coaching in Tunisia to bag the IHF B coaching license,” he said.

"I particularly applaud his determination and zeal to attain more knowledge in his quest to be one of Africa's top coaches which in the ripple effect will help handball to grow more in Nigeria, especially in the league wherein he is a major stakeholder," Ocheho added.

Furthermore, Ocheho encouraged fellow coaches to pursue IHF A or B licenses, highlighting handball’s global ascent as a promising sport.

He assured the Federation of Nigeria’s continuous support for coaches in their pursuit of excellence. 

Meanwhile, coach Abdulkadir, speaking from Monastir, Tunisia, expressed his gratitude too the Handball Federation for their unwavering support. He also pledged his commitment to giving back to the Nigerian handball community, particularly at the grassroots level as he continues to excel in his career.
