Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre delivered a quick response to an Instagram user who posted a sexist comment in an attempt to belittle women's football.

The exchange occurred under a post from the official Saudi Women's Premier League account, which featured Plumptre and her Al-Ittihad teammate, Algerian midfielder Lina Boussaha.

The post's caption celebrated the pair's impressive performances in the Saudi top flight, stating, "A new duo in Al-Ittihad colours shining in our league."

While the post garnered positive reactions from many fans, one user left a derogatory comment: "Lady, we are 100% sure your place is in the kitchen, not the football field."

Plumptre replies fan

Plumptre has become a prominent voice for respect and equality in women's football, recently speaking out about the subpar conditions the Nigerian national team has faced during international duty.

Known for her advocacy for women in sports, the Super Falcons star quickly retorted with a clever response, "Actually, Lina Boussaha is an incredible baker," Plumptre replied on Instagram.

Her teammate Boussaha, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, joined in with an equally powerful clapback, adding: "Exactly, we cook in the kitchen & on the field."
