The teenage sensation's bright start to life in the FKFPL earned him a late call up to Engin Firat’s Harambee Stars squad for games against Qatar and South Sudan this month.

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has heaped praise on budding teenage sensation Stanley Wilson after enjoying what has rather been an unfathomable month.

Wilson signed for Kariobangi Sharks from NSL side Darajani Gogo in August, before he showed his class in the Elite Pre-Season tournament and then the opening two league games against title-hunting Kenya Police and Tusker.

He showcased such brilliant displays that earned a place in the FKFPL Team of the Week for his exploits against Police and then a subsequent late addition to Engin Firat’s Harambee Stars squad for games against Qatar and South Sudan this month.

He failed to make the traveling cut for the Qatar assignment which Stars won 2-1 but still has a chance to make his debut against South Sudan in a match scheduled to take place at the Kasarani Stadium next Tuesday.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Tusker, Muluya said that Wilson can be a top player for Kenya in the future if he can stay humble and work for his chances in training.

“It is all about maybe developing him more and building him more,” Muluya said. “He is a player that had never gotten a chance to play in the top flight before,” he added.

Muluya insists that the sky is the limit for Wilson as long as he can stick to the fundamentals that effectively fast-tracked him into the senior fold.

“He is a 17-year-old. It is all about trying harder to see what his future will look like. If he can pay keen attention to  what he is told to do in training, he will become a top midfielder for Kenya in the coming days.”

Muluya doubles up as the Harambee Stars assistant coach, which is sure to give Wilson an advantage should he continue enjoying his rather meteoric rise ever since he started playing professionally upon leaving high school.
