Liverpool football legends are shocked by the confirmation that Diogo Jota has died in Spain.
A car accident early this morning on the A-52 highway near Sernadilla (kilometer 65 towards Benavente) claimed the lives of Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota and his brother Andre, who played for Portuguese club Penafiel. They were 28 and 26 years old, respectively.
According to initial reports from the 1-1-2 Emergency Center of Castile and Leon, the vehicle left the road and caught fire, although the cause of the accident remains unknown. The accident was also reported early this morning by the Overseas Province.
Due to the intense flames, several units from the Rionegro del Puente Fire Station were needed, as explained by the provincial administration. Despite their efforts and the work of medical personnel dispatched to the A-52 highway, the two young men, aged 26 and 28, could not be saved. The fire, which also spread to the surrounding vegetation, was quickly extinguished.
