UCL: Peter Olayinka's Red Star handed respectable defeat by Hamilton-led Man City kiddies

No fewer than five Manchester City Academy graduates were in action in a thrilling UCL encounter against Crvena Zvezda in the UCL.

English champions Manchester City have completed the UEFA Champions League with a perfect record following a thrilling victory against Red Star. 

City defeated Peter Olayinka and his Crvena Zvezda 3-2, with the City Academy boys led by debutant Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb taking the spotlight. 

City boys shine bright 

In a thrilling clash, a much-changed Manchester City side ensured Pep Guardiola maintained his 100% record in the competition. 

Guardiola started three academy graduates, with two more coming on as substitutes in the entertaining clash.

Two of the players, Hamilton and Bobb gave City a beautiful start when they netted in either half to give the defending champions a 2-0 lead.

In-Boom Hwang pulled one back in the 76th minute but City restored the two-goal lead when Hamilton won a penalty, which was converted by Kalvin Philips to make it 3-1.

Red Stars pulled another goal back when Boom turned provider for Alexsandar Katai to make it 3-2 and a respectable defeat for the home side.
