Nigeria and South Africa will square off at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine on Saturday in what would be the final group game for both sides.

South Africa's U-17 coach Duncan Crowie has admitted that his side need not do too much in their all-important encounter with Nigeria's Golden Eaglets at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The South Africans bounced back from a defeat in their first Group B game with Morocco to defeat Zambia 3-2 in a thrilling match on Wednesday.

Although their victory over Zambia, put them in a good place to qualify for the quarterfinal, an excruciating defeat against Nigeria in their final group game could see their campaign in jeopardy.

Speaking about the game - after Wednesday's win, Crowie stated that his side could simply aim to go for a draw as it was all they needed to make the next stage of the competition.

“This is a tough group and anything can happen. We still have work to do but at least now we have a win to work with," the tactician said.

"We will just need a draw in that match to get through. Nothing is done yet.”

Nigeria's coach Ugbade promises efficiency

Meanwhile, Nigeria's coach Nduka Ugbade has promised that his team will be more efficient after hitting the target only four times in 27 attempts in their 1-0 defeat to Morocco.

"We must be more efficient with the chances we have. We will try to look for some different ways tactically to impact the outcome of the game. We have a chance, but also, that chance can fade away. We have to work hard," Ugbade said.
