The former Barcelona and AC Milan star suffered numerous injuries because he was having sex seven to ten times a week according to his ex-wife.

Kevin-Prince Boateng's ex-wife Melissa Satta once bizarrely claimed that the former Barcelona forward's injuries were due to the amount of sex they had.

The Berlin-born playmaker, who had an eventful club career across Europe, retired at the age of 35 in 2023 having returned to Hertha Berlin.

The 15 clubs Boateng represented included Italian giants AC Milan, for whom he starred as they won the 2011 Serie A title.

He also had a brief spell with Spanish club Barcelona in 2019 as well as playing in England, Turkey, Italy and Germany.

He arguably enjoyed some of his best football at AC Milan, where he was a star footballer for the Italian giants. In 2012, he dominated Arsenal in the first leg of the round of 16, beating them 4-0, with Boateng scoring the opening goal.

That season, he had been suffering numerous muscular injuries, which prompted Satta into making that claim during an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The reason Kevin is injured so often is because we have sex seven to ten times a week," she said.

"I hate foreplay. I want to go straight for it. I prefer to be on top so that I can be in control!"

Boateng started dating Satta in 2011 before marrying her five years later. The ex-couple have one child together, Maddox, 8. The couple broke up in 2019 and finalised their divorce in 2020.

Valentina Fradegrada also claimed in an interview that they were always having sex.

"We always do it - she declares - it's a way to release tension while having fun."

At international level, Boateng opted to play for Ghana in 2010 having represented Germany at youth level.

He earned 15 caps for the Black Stars, scoring two goals, and played at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
