Mourinho has revealed that the FIFA Club World Cup is only important to Chelsea.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has cast doubt on the importance of Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup victory.
The former Real Madrid coach suggested that the victory holds meaning primarily for commercial gains.
Chelsea were crowned world champions earlier this month after a commanding 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the final held in the United States.

The Fenerbahçe manager, Jose Mourinho, again praised his compatriot at Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, and expressed his belief that this season will be different.
Speaking to Portuguese outlet Canal 11, Mourinho said, “This Club World Cup also highlighted a kid who had a great season at Chelsea, Cole Palmer. But this [Real Madrid] run to the semi-finals reminded me of every time I went to the U.S. for pre-season with Real Madrid or Inter Milan, those games felt more like promotional tours than true competitions.
“So, I think this World Cup title is only important for Chelsea, as they’ll sell a lot of jerseys with the logo there.”
