Both have also been in good form for their respective clubs in the last few seasons. Sadiq scored 20 league goals for Almeria last season before moving to Real Sociedad this campaign.

The Nigerian striker is set to spark a transfer war this summer, with Manchester United leading the race for his services.
Meanwhile, Osimhen scored 14 league goals for Napoli last season and he is currently Serie A’s top scorer with 21 goals.
With both players in good form for their clubs last season, there was competition between both of them for a spot in Nigeria’s attacking lineup.
Osimhen won the battle, though, and has established himself as the undisputed top striker in Nigeria’s squad.

Nonetheless, Sadiq insists he is not jealous of the Napoli man, saying there is no competition between them.
The 26-year-old, currently out with a long-term injury he picked up earlier this season, insists he does not have a problem with Osimhen starting for the Super Eagles as long as the goal is to win as a team.
“You know, firstly, it’s always a pleasure playing for you to represent your country and with Victor [Osimhen], I would say I do not see it as a competition. We are all going there to serve the nation. The country deserves the best,” Sadiq said on the LaLiga Podcast show.
“To be honest, whether I play or Victor plays, I am good with that. If you don’t win with someone, you have to join him to win, you know? Or you win with us, or you see us winning. So the best thing is to join him [Victor Osimhen] to win together. So there’s no jealousy.” the ex-Roma attacker added.

But despite Osimhen’s guaranteed spot in the Super Eagles squad, Sadiq has seven appearances for the three-time African champions with one goal to his name.
The former Roma star is currently out, however, after injuring his knee in Real Sociedad’s 2-1 loss to Getafe in September last year.

The injury kept Sadiq out of Nigeria’s friendly games against Algeria, Portugal and the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau.
He is not expected to return this season and will miss the game against Sierra Leone in June.
