The former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs is reportedly eager to take over as Salford's next manager which would be his comeback to the game.

Ryan Giggs resigned as Wales head coach a year ago following domestic violence allegations levelled against him.

The Manchester United great had been scheduled for a retrial in July on accusations of causing actual bodily injury to his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour; however, the case was dropped after the CPS withdrew the charges.

He is now looking to get back in the game and return to football management according to reports.

Giggs looking to become Salford manager

According to the Sun, Ryan Giggs who formally quit as the manager of the Welsh national team in June 2022 is seriously considering managing Salford.

Neil Wood, a former United youth coach, is currently in charge of Salford after a run of four straight losses.

The Ammies last season advanced to the play-off semi-finals, before falling to Stockport County on penalties, but Wood might be fired if they don't make a push for promotion this year.

Giggs is a member of an ambitious ownership group that includes his former United teammates Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, and David Beckham and is supported by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.

The team has played eight games so far and is presently ranked 19th in the fourth division with two victories, one draw, and five losses.

The Ammies' owners have a reputation for being brutal when it comes to firing managers. Since their promotion to League Two in 2019, they have fired Graham Alexander, Richie Wellens, and Gary Bowyer.

They will be looking unto Giggs to change the fortune of the club despite being away for more than a year.
