Real Madrid lost the first leg 1-0 against Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey semi-final. They will face Barcelona in the second leg at the Camp Nou stadium and Ancelotti has said his team must give their all in this second leg.

Real Madrid's manager Carlo Ancelotti claimed that to overcome a one-goal disadvantage against Barcelona in their Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, Real Madrid must concentrate on putting on a complete performance rather than going all out in pursuit of a goal.

Real Madrid must give a complete performance

In the first half of the first leg last month, Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao scored an own goal, but Barcelona defended outstandingly to frustrate Ancelotti's team and ran away with a 1-0 lead.

Speaking ahead of the second leg clash, Ancelotti said, "It's always the most important game for me, for Real Madrid and for the fans. There is a very big rivalry.

"This match allows us to play another final and it is the most important objective. It is an important competition and we are close. We will do everything we can to play in a final.

"The idea is not to go crazy to score a goal. The idea is to play a complete game with and without the ball. We haven't got there many times and that's an important aspect. We're not going to go crazy, because you can score a goal in the fifth minute and then concede two."

Ancelotti confirms Rudiger’s availability

Real Madrid has been defeated three times by Barcelona in 2023, including victories in the first leg of the tie, a league match last month, and the Spanish Super Cup final.

In response to a question about using a different lineup or formation to confuse the Catalan club, Ancelotti said, "it's difficult to change the system after working on the same system all year".

"Small details are where you can surprise your opponent. In general, a change in the system will only surprise you," the Italian added.

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, who missed Real's 6-0 victory against Real Valladolid on Sunday, is back in training and eligible for the midweek match, according to Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly in talks to become Real Madrid's new coach, and the Portuguese could arrive as early as this June. Jose Mourinho has once again been being linked with a coaching job at his former team Real Madrid.
