PSG's Marco Verratti could be set to make a move back to Italy after his agent's recent comments
Paris Saint-Germain midfield megastar Marco Verratti appears closer to an exit from the Ligue 1 club after the Italian’s agent Rafaela Pimenta talked up a move back to his country in Serie A.
Verratti looking for a PSG exit
Verratti has been rumoured to be headed for an exit from PSG after becoming disillusioned with life in France with Les Parisiens, and his agent has given credence to those rumours by linking his client with a return to Italy.
Verratti could be on his way out of PSG as a rift between him and the club over the Italian’s weight and performances as well as the midfielder being unhappy with the club’s recent treatment of other superstars at the club.
Now Verratti’s agent has said that he believes the midfielder will return to Italy.
Verratti eyes Serie A move
Speaking with Italian publisher Calciomercato, Verratti’s agent has reiterated her client’s intention to return to Italy and play in Serie A.
She said, “An Italian always wants to return home sooner or later, but I can’t say that this is the case for him. Now PSG must end the season, then we’ll see.”
Verratti has been one of the superstars that have suffered PSG’s supposed failure this season, along with Lionel Messi and Neymar, and has been targeted for abuse by the club’s ultras.
The midfielder might also be tempted by the prospect of finally playing in Serie A after joining PSG directly from Serie B club Pescara.
Juventus are believed to be the most interested club, but recent troubles and a lack of European football might make a move untenable.
