PSG have decided to respect Mbappe's wishes by taking down controversial video
Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint-Germain have removed a promotional video for their 2023/24 season tickets after Kylian Mbappe criticised the club for using a clip from an interview without seeking permission from him first.
Mbappe criticises PSG’s use of his image
Mbappe made a post on Instagram where he criticised his current club for using his image in the advertisement without taking permission from him, despite the fact that he has personal rights to his image and should have been consulted before the advert.
Mbappe was at variance with the direction of the campaign for people to renew their season tickets, and made that point clear with an Instagram post that he ended by saying that the club was named Paris Saint-Germain, not “Kylian Saint-Germain”.
PSG looking to stave off more drama at the club, take down video
PSG responded to the criticism from their talisman by taking down the video in order to honour his request to respect his image rights.
