Paul Onuachu may be leaving KRC Genk soon as Southampton and Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly register interest

English club Southampton and German side Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu from KRC Genk.

The big centre forward has been based in Belgium since 2019 when he joined KRC Genk but could now be set for a much-deserved big move.

The 28-year-old has scored 14 goals in 18 games for Genk so far in what is yet another prolific season which led to him being in demand in the transfer window again.

Paul Onuachu on the move?

According to a report by Walfoot, Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt have initiated talks with KRC Genk for the signing of Onuachu.

This makes it the second time a team has approached Genk to sign the Nigerian striker this transfer window after English club Southampton reportedly had a €12 million bid rejected.

Eintracht Frankfurt are reported to be offering Genk €15 million for Onuachu who has less than 18 months left on his current contract.

The offer is expected to be rejected by KRC Genk as they reportedly value their prolific striker at €25 million which both Southampton and Eintracht Frankfurt have fallen well short of.

Genk value Onuachu highly as he has been prolific in the last two seasons and he won the 2020/21 Belgian league Golden boot after hitting 33 Jupiler League goals.

The 28-year-old managed 19 goals in 29 games last season which was riddled with injuries but is now on course to claim his second golden boot as he sits top of the scorers' chart in Belgium with 14 goals.
