Osimhen missing in UCL Team of the Week
UEFA announced the official Team of the Week on Thursday and Osimhen's name was missing from the forward line.
Osimhen’s two goals not only secured the victory but also set a new club record, making him the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European matches.
Following his performance, his name should have been included in the list, but instead, the attacking positions were filled by Athletic Bilbao's Gorka Guruzeta, who also scored a brace in a 3-1 win against Qarabağ, alongside Dennis Man of PSV and Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon.
The rest of the star-studded lineup included a midfield of Fermín López (Barcelona), Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund), and Lennart Karl (Bayern Munich).
The defence featured Nuno Mendes (PSG), Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), and Denzel Dumfries (Inter Milan), with Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario named as the goalkeeper.
Following his omission, the striker will be looking to continue his impressive goal-scoring form for Galatasaray in both domestic and European competitions.
