The Nigeria Premier Football League title race has taken a dramatic turn after seven-time champions Enugu Rangers fell to a thrilling 4-3 defeat against Katsina United on Matchday 29.

A Goal-Fest in Katsina

Football lovers were treated to a goal-fest at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina. The match saw all four goals scored in the opening 20 minutes.

Katsina raced into an early lead through Azeez Falolu in the 4th minute, but Godwin Obaje equalized for Rangers just six minutes later.

Michael Ibe restored the lead for the home side in the 16th minute, only for Saviour Godwin to level again two minutes later.

Ibe completed his brace on the stroke of halftime, and Andrew Idoko extended Katsina's lead further after the break.

Joel Odoh pulled one back for Rangers in the 81st minute, but it wasn't enough to salvage a point.

Lobi Stars Keep Up the Pressure

Meanwhile, in Lafia, Danbani Alao's solitary goal in the 58th minute secured a 1-0 victory for Lobi Stars against Enyimba.

This win keeps them hot on the heels of Rangers in second place.

Niger Tornadoes Maintain Scoring Prowess

Niger Tornadoes continued their impressive goalscoring form with a convincing 5-0 victory over relegation-threatened Gombe United in Kaduna.

Other Matchday Highlights

Heartland ended their four-match winless streak with a 3-1 victory over Sporting Lagos in Owerri.

Kwara United needed a late penalty from Isiah Ejeh to salvage a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance, who had taken the lead through Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi in the first half.

Tunde Adeniji marked his return to Sunshine Stars with a goal, but it only secured a 1-1 draw against visiting Bayelsa United.

The result extends Bayelsa United's winless run to three matches, while Sunshine Stars remain without a win in their last three outings.
