An overlooked Super Eagles striker continues to shine in Europe, outperforming Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman with another standout display at the weekend.

Naija Stars Abroad led by their Super Eagles compatriots enjoyed another quiet outing, with some of the big names like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi all suffering defeats.

Just before the international break, Osimhen endured a frustrating evening as Galatasaray lost for the first time this season to a newly promoted side.

The 24-year-old striker who made the Champions League wave in mid-week thought he had scored his fourth league goal of the season but watched in agony as VAR chalked it off for offside.

Osimhen’s Super Eagles teammate and African Player of the Year, Lookman, was at the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat alongside his Atalanta teammates while returning goalkeeper Maduka Okoye conceded two goals as Udinese lost at Roma.

In the Premier League, it was a similar fate for the trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, who were all in action as Fulham fell to Everton.

In France, Moses Simon was caged for 80 minutes at home as Paris FC failed to build on the big win against Monaco, a game the Nigerian netted the winner.

Chidozie Awaziem put on a decent shift in Nantes’ draw at Le Havre, but Terem Moffi’s substitute role ended in defeat with Nice at Metz.

Meanwhile, Paul Onuachu returned to scoring ways with his eighth goal of the season, but it was not enough to guarantee more than a point for title contenders Trabzonspor.

Onuachu’s latest goal saw him extend his lead over Osimhen in the Super Lig to five goals, with the former African Player of the Year still on three goals for the season.

Defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was in fine form as he captained Besiktas to a thrilling and important 3-1 win over Antalyaspor.

In Spain, returning Super Eagle Chidera Ejuke enjoyed a cameo for Sevilla in their home win against Osasuna, while compatriot Akor Adams was caged for 90 minutes.
